Help Me Pick Out The Right Pet!?
I am a responsible pet owner. I am involved actively in animal rescue and have owned animals all my life.
I am a college student renting my own home. I am not allowed cats or dogs, but all other pets are fine.
I have a rat and a snake and some bettas. I would like a different kind of animal after my current pets pass on (hopefully not for a long time!). I want to start researching now so I know the best animal to pick.
I can’t have a highmaintenence pet. ie; one that has a special diet made for it each day or needs 5 hours attention each day.
Does anyone have an suggestions? I just want to hear some ideas so I can go buy the books and think some more about it. I am looking into dwarf bunnies already. How about chinchillas? How friendly are they? Do they bond to their owner?
Anyone have any other ideas as well?
as someone who is living in temp location, it would be good if the pet is easily portable. if you like birds and dont mind them being stuck in a cage all day, birds are something you may want to consider. most of them are easy to maintain.
dwarf bunnies are really cute. and soft to pet. so yeah, they will do nicely.
personally, if i had the interest and energy in a pet, i would keep a hermit crab. with personality. probably call it captain jack. but it wont bond.
for real bonding, you would have to get a dog. so that’s when you get a real home.
